For K-12 Students


Vacaville Early College High School (VECHS) offers students free college credits through an educational
partnership between Solano Community College and Vacaville Unified School District. Students can graduate
with a high school diploma and an AA degree. VECHS website

Spanish Immersion Cultural Education (SPICE) is dual immersion program located at Edwin Markham School
is designed to allow both English and Spanish speaking students to develop functional Spanish fluency and
literacy at no cost to their academic achievement and English development. SPICE website


Gifted And Talented Education (GATE) program is a model of differentiated instruction that is driven by the classroom teachers at our ten elementary schools. The students are placed in cluster groups and enriched with materials that may be accelerated or presented in greater depth and /or complexity. GATE website

Alternative Cooperative Education (ACE) The ACE philosophy of education honors and supports each individual's unique development. Our goal is to empower children to reach their potential in a supportive atmosphere where they experience joy, creativity, and self-confidence while learning about themselves and the world around them. Stacked Books

Vacaville Elementary Independent Study Program (VISP) is designed for elementary students in grades K-6. This homeschool program provides a format for supporting a parent-guided educational process. Parents will take a significant and active role in the instruction of their child while working with an independent study teacher. VISP provides assistance with curriculum that is aligned with the district's approved course of study and aligned with the state grade level expectations. The focus of VISP is to ensure an excellent educational program structured for each student's individual strengths and needs. The program is located at Orchard Elementary School. The Muzetta Thrower Adult Education Center offers student centered continuing education to a population diverse in age, economic status, education, language and ethnicity. The Vacaville Adult Education Program academic classes meet state standards and the career and technical programs prepare individuals for success in an ever changing job market.
