Patricia Smeback, Browns Valley Elementary School's Classified Employee of the Year
Browns Valley Elementary School proudly recognizes Patricia Smeback as our 2023-2024 Classified Employee of the Year.
Ms. Patricia Smeback is an amazing paraprofessional at Browns Valley Elementary. She works daily in our 3-6 Functional Academics Program – and does so with such unassuming joy and enthusiasm that she’s earned this recognition.
Pat is kind, empathetic, and has the patience of a saint. Her passion is working with students who have special needs. She works to integrate students into the general education classroom to have additional experiences with same aged peers.
She has been at Browns Valley for decades, working as a one-to-one with a student who has now graduated and another who has gone to Vaca High. Ms. Smeback is always positive and helpful, and the students adore her.
Mrs. Smeback is a team player, which is necessary in a classroom with various adults and students to interact with. She helps the class with schedules and creates wonderful projects and lessons.
Pat is exceptional when implementing behavior intervention plans, using appropriate tools and supports to keep students on track.
